Messaging
The Messaging section provides real-time chat for communicating with drivers, dispatchers, and other team members directly within the TMS.
Direct Messages
Send private messages to any user in the system for one-on-one communication.
How to use it
- Navigate to Messaging from the sidebar
- Click New Conversation
- Search for and select a user
- Type your message and press Enter or click Send
- View the conversation thread in the chat panel

Group Conversations
Create group chats to coordinate with multiple team members at once.
How to use it
- Click New Conversation
- Select multiple users to add to the group
- Give the group a name (optional)
- All members receive messages in real time

- Group names for easy identification
Load Conversations
Every load has a dedicated conversation thread for discussions related to that specific shipment.
How to use it
- Open any load detail page
- Click the Messages tab or section
- All messages in this thread are tied to the load
- Dispatchers, drivers, and other stakeholders can participate
Key features
- Context-specific messaging tied to a load
- Full audit trail for compliance and dispute resolution
- Accessible from the load detail page
Tip: Use load conversations to keep all communication about a shipment in one place. This makes it easy to review the full history if questions arise later.
Real-Time Updates
Messages are delivered instantly using SignalR, with visual indicators for new messages.
Key features
- Instant message delivery without page refresh
- Unread message badge in the navigation menu
- Visual notification when new messages arrive in an open conversation
- Automatic scroll to latest message
Chat History (Admin)
Administrators can view all messaging activity across the system for compliance and oversight.
How to use it
- Navigate to Admin → Chat History
- Search conversations by user, date range, or keyword
- View full conversation threads
- Export conversation records if needed
Key features
- Full system-wide message search
- Filter by user, conversation type, or date range
- Read-only view — messages cannot be edited or deleted (compliance)
- Exportable records for auditing
Tip: Messages in the TMS are immutable for compliance purposes. Once sent, messages cannot be edited or deleted by any user, including administrators.
