Operations

The Operations section covers day-to-day operational tools including detention tracking and weather/route planning.

Detention Tracking

Log, track, and bill detention time at shipper and receiver facilities.

How to use it

  1. Navigate to Operations → Detention Tracking
  2. View all detention records or filter by status
  3. Click + New Detention to log a detention event
  4. Record arrival time, departure time, and free time allowance
  5. Calculate billable detention and add to load charges

Creating a detention record

  1. Click + New Detention
  2. Select the associated load and stop
  3. Enter arrival and departure times
  4. Set the free time allowance (typically 2 hours)
  5. System calculates billable detention automatically
  6. Approve and bill to the customer

Weather & Route Planning

Check weather conditions along planned routes and plan trips with weather awareness.

How to use it

  1. Navigate to Operations → Weather & Route
  2. Enter an origin and destination
  3. View weather conditions along the route
  4. Check for severe weather alerts
  5. Plan alternate routes if conditions are hazardous

  • Route weather overlay on map
  • Severe weather alerts (winter storms, tornadoes, flooding)
  • Road condition warnings
  • Multi-day forecast for trip planning

Locations

Manage shipper and receiver facility locations used across loads and operations.

How to use it

  1. Navigate to Operations → Locations
  2. View all locations or filter by state or search term
  3. Click + New Location to add a facility
  4. Enter the facility name, address, contact information, and operating hours
  5. Optionally configure a geofence radius for automatic arrival/departure detection
  6. Save the location — it becomes available when creating loads

  • Geofence configuration per location (radius in miles)
  • State-based filtering for quick lookup
  • Search by facility name or address
  • Operating hours and contact details
  • Automatic geofence triggers for driver arrival and departure
Tip: Setting up geofences on frequently visited facilities enables automatic arrival and departure detection, reducing manual status updates from drivers.
